The Poppy Caravan

Our Story

The Poppy Caravan is a traveling exhibition of fashion and design, featuring a variety of creators, artists, and designers from around the globe in a format that takes the “pop up” or “trunk show” to another level.

Founders Stephanie Landess and Paula Edwards created the series to support small businesses, artisans, and designers to join together for a collective event celebrating great design and bringing locals together for a fun and unparalleled shopping experience. Since their inaugural Charleston event in the spring of 2021, The Poppy Caravan has hosted their traveling pop-up series across the nation, with events from Palm Beach and Aspen to Nantucket and New York.

Each show features one-of-a-kind collections from vendors selling bespoke handbags, contemporary home décor, heirloom jewelry, sustainably produced linens, collectibles, globally inspired accessories and handcrafted clothing and swimwear. Edwards and Landess personally curate a group of vendors tailored to each location who do not currently have presence in any given market to introduce locals to exciting new brands and provide a truly unique shopping opportunity.

Stephanie & Paula

The Poppy Caravan is a collaborative business venture between Stephanie and Paula. Both have their own individual expertise and have developed The Poppy Caravan to create a unique brand that caters to the ever-changing nature of modern retail.

Stephanie has worked with countless high-profile organizations including the school of American ballet and the Nature Conservancy and specializes in development and marketing strategy for special projects and events. Similarly, Paula’s background is in marketing, serving as a specialist across many industries. Paula was also an international wedding and event planner for orient express hotels for 15 years.

Creative and thoughtful curators, they diligently search and identify rare fashion and home brands who are looking for the opportunity to be showcased in a prestigious platform. Through the Poppy Caravan, a community of likeminded brands was created for discerning clients who look forward to the unique fashion finds accessible in one garden party style trunk show. Stephanie says, “We work hard to create a chemistry, not competition among participating brands, and are thrilled by the ecosystem we have developed for creators and curators to highlight their beautiful works of art.”

According to Paula, “After the quarantine, we thought it was a great time to get people together and it’s been a joy seeing multi-generations of men and women gather at our festive events.” The first year drew such crowds eager to discover treasures from small objects d’art to big ticket buys. Plans are underway to expand the scope of the merchandise and add more city stops throughout the country.
